latest track im working on...far from finished yet, going on digital ep next year ...speaking of which, yes the online shop will include digital downloads soon starting with a mystery acid ep, followed by Baby Krugers long awaited debut on the label then a 3rd digital release...me this time, so from now until then will strive to create the best possible listening experience for some of the old school underground electro enthusiasts. ;)

It has been a few months since my blog was last updated. So for those of you who have been spared my relentless assaults on facebook and soundcloud lately...let me bring you up to date.

My first physical VINYL record is to be released in a matter of weeks now. It has taken all summer to get sorted as i have been taking my time coordinating everything between myself, Will.. who runs our website (version 2 on the way) and the pressing plant.

The Test pressings have all sounded great just some minor adjustments had to be done. The style is a blend of old-school electro, breaks, acid and industrial. A testament staying true to my older underground electronic roots. This project has been in the making for several years now and i must say it feels good to finally get it done.

Test pressings minus the few i kept for myself were all sent to DJs i respect for feedback and to mix and results were positive. Particularly from my agents in Brussels were criticism can be pretty brutal. Oh..and my girlfriend likes it (and she rarely sings musical praises eh ?...haha.x)

The pictures on here are in my home studio with my friend Craig, whos been one of me closest mates since i came back to the uk many years ago. we made some noisy shit together for a few years before i got all "serious" ;) ... many thanks to him (naturally he got a test press)

while im here i would also like to thank the people who taught me my trade. Tim day, Chris Bunce, Dave sibley, Steve...Matt hodson, Phil Bodger and Stace Constantinou...in particular Tim for being the most enthusiastic teacher i have ever met. and to all my friends, family, all loved ones.

Force of Nature represents many things to me. The main has been essentially survival...and overcoming the odds. This vinyl is dedicated to all the freaks out there. long live the underground.

NEW EP FOR 2011// HELLBOY - THE TRIP

SO....here i am again, just to say that as well as a vinyl i will be releasing my first free EP since 2008's "through the gutter". "The trip" is basically a journey back into my techno roots which will eventually come to a gruesome
finale into dark ambient and noise sound-scapes.
It has taken me so far...over a year to assemble, but its on its way now and should be with you around april or may time...maybee slightly later.
Its been a bitch to decide what to put out next, im happy with this though ;)

Greetings...
First post of a brand new year...one which will see many changes for the label and one where i plan to narrow things down a lot more as an artist.

2010 for me was all about experimentation... i wrote 2 albums which i plan to never release and a host of other random tracks, some bits might just leak through and find their way somewhere but shit..id rather not think too much and focus on moving forward.

Busy psyching myself up to write first tune of the year, im exited, particularly since the dramatic changes made to my music studio this month, first though i have to finish writting stuff...
im researching a lot about futurism and its impact on music...particularly noise, also more than ever listening and studying my old favorites skinny puppy, einsterzunden naubauten ....amongst countless others, reading reading reading reading

i think the first new material will surface around mid-february, i have to go to poland first where i plan to just do a DJ set and celebrate another new begining in my life ;)

SO narowing it down.... noise, industrial, less melodies, time changes, concrete,,,,,these are the things im looking at now, but with my own twist, so much has happened and so much crazy stuff is still hapening to me on a daily basis i have to get this shit out no matter what,

and the rest i think you know....

structural damages first vinyl goes to press in a few months, i feel it may come accross very self indulgent that its going to just have my own stuff on it but its something that means a lot and i need to release the music that is important to me.

So here i am back at headquarters a couple of weeks later...The show was awesome and brilliantly organised, all the artists were treated like kings i was almost pinching myself at times, free booze, food champagne...all that was missing was some escort girls and that would have sealed it...haha...kidding. I actually ended up playing an extra show in Mons the following night and was brought beers until 4 in the morning so it took my body a few days to re-adjust when i got home !
It was a crazy weekend, and i managed to pull off something ok, the reactions seemed to have been 90% positive...

good experience and nice to reach out to different crowds, the show in mons being mainly goths and mods...hahaha but even they liked it...had to play the heaviest tunes to get attention though, was really good crowd in the end though.

the brussels gig i felt was cool too, i think i did end up playing far far too late and i was on verge of collapse after i played, also i get the feeling i played some of my set in mono by accident...thats the danger of putting me on so late in the morning hahahahaahahahaha....some things will never change..oops. ;)

all in all its been fun and i wish the very best to everyone involved, see you in 2011

BURN ME TENDER....THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

...So here i am at St Pancreas waiting for the departures to open, sitting in an overpriced coffee place but it has free net and its quiet. Im starting to read a book called "music of the spheres" should get my brain going for a few hours...

I have a whole day before the show, which will be spent in good company back in Brussels, so good to go back there and re-charge my batteries, im going mental in brighton but moaning less about it at the moment, iv started to like it again. Worked my arse off and building things up for the label and my music studio so its been a very good month, and im being sensible ????...it wont last...ha.

Iv been putting up some mixes on the site lately, and pleased to welcome some new faces on board, its good to have some variety and i wanted to bring back some of the older listeners...get a bit of balance going, ideas about new projects keep springing to mind which is good and healthy...things truly kick off again this friday and its a big jump back to my roots...first techno set on the turf that influenced me and started it all....on top of that im performing 3 or 4 industrial electro tracks live to finish things off....and playing after acid kirk, cool. im trying not to think about it too much, i know there will be a lot of people, iv spent the best part of the last 4 months being a recluse in the studio so this will be a shock to me but ill get into the swing of it and fuckin love it (hopefully) anyway whatever happens ill be back here at some point to write about the experience.

...i really wonder how it will go haha...just dont think too much. fucking rock it, bang your head

Here it fucking is.....and what a hell of a night im looking forward to...no more fucking around...its time to stand up and be counted...2010 is finishing off in style after what has been a really tough year on most levels for me...the label is moving to physical vinyl records soon...website is getting a complete overhaul....and i get to play a party with great friends and a few artists iv admired for many years...i cant thank enough jeff and his crew from brussels for putting up with me over the last few years and keeping faith in me and my abilities despite turning up in a right state on a couple of occasions...breaking free of the past at last and ready to join my friends on the other side....it took almost 10 years but iv finnally woken up and life is fucking sweet today.

OCTOBER. BACK FROM THE DEAD

Will be back on home turf in Brussels on the 29th October for a full on acid techno assault with a few surprises thrown in. Im exited about this show as its the moment iv worked towards for years...finnally play the music i really enjoy making in the place where it all started for me 10 years ago....iv always had warm reception when playing in brussels but the last few times i was still finding my feet experimenting with other styles and different public...so great to have the oportunity to finnally get back to my roots after a long time in exile....

The UK...as per usual is getting me down...but it seems to be the only place strangely enough where i can function properly and keep my life stable enough...maybee just need to get out of brighton, not much going on here tbh...

So october pretty booked up, spain and belgium...will be good to hit the road for a few days and focus my mind elsewhere, iv been pretty pissed about a few things....mostly my fustration at being in the wrong place...fuck...after 10 years NOW i get HOMESICK. I feel like a ticking timebomb right now...but a few good shows to finish off what has been a difficult but very creative year could just be the antidote i need...To be honest a part of me really wants to scream out all the things i am so dissatisfied about with the music scene here but one thing lifes taught me recently is to never wash your dirty clothes in public...... there is hope though...recently released a little ep of old tracks on splaterkore reck-ords which seems to be opening up more options with the uk's more industrial community, iv got a lot of faith and hope for the couple who run that label...much more my way of thinking rather than joining some agency and be exploited...for now.

COMPILATION 2 IS HERE !!!!

Well guys, at long last our 10th and final net release for the time being is here ! And you have no idea what i had to go through to get this done. I held onto it for so long coz i really wanted to do something a bit different and getting it right etc... I beleive so much in the power of free music and this label has been a positive thing for so many of us.

Im happy to report that we are moving forward onto vinyl very soon too. keeping stum about it as its going to be an absolute stonkingly good series of music especially crafted for all you vinyl junkies out there so i wont ruin the surprise.

compilation 2....aaaarrrhhh where to even FUCKING begin...... I had to pull myself out of a deep dark fucking hole in the last few months, i seriously was staring at insanity in the face.....but whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger right ? I have so much to thank to some of my close mates in uk and belgium fer getting me through it,,,i wont bleat my life out and bore you with the gruesome details....but lets just say sometimes you got to make yourself hit rock bottom as hard as you can to go up again and out of that crazyness with the same momentum...we are living in pretty crazy times and i think our generation is paying heavily.....anyway bla bla bolocks.

COMP II breaks away a lot more from contemporary electronica and is more based around PUNK/HEAVY/DEATH METAL and more DIGITAL HARDCORE type sounds, although i have left room for the odd Breakcore and Jungle weirdness too. Its a lot shorter than Comp I but 15 tracks of free interesting music from people all over the world...well thats not too fucking bad is it ? I hope this release will help push a few more artists out there to another step...only 2 or 3 recognisable names on this compilation, all about giving a platform to the weirdos like myself that snotty nosed labels wouldnt touch.

Im extremely happy to report that NO DUBSTEP features at all on this...as a pro-audio enginneer iv always had an open mind to music but ....well i dont need to spell it out...i am sick to death of it...although we do have something by a certain mr stazma in the pipeline soon (oops...sorry julien ;) ...we will make allowances nethertheless,,,,hahahaaeeerrrr.

SO whack your cans on or even better still, krank the volume up, speakers/monitors full blast and enjoy the 8 months work it took to make STRUCTURAL DAMAGE RECORDS COMPILATION 2 !!!!!!!!!!! PISS YOUR NEIGHBOURS OFF.

A new chapter begins

Hey everyone, today marked the beginning of a new chapter in my story...started an internship with a local label, really enjoyed it. Im discovering all they do and have done at the mo but its really interesting stuff. Im hoping the experience i will gain from this will help structural damage in the long run, also nice timing to be doing this as i strive to get compilation 2 wrapped up...sorry to keep you waiting, things are as predictably slow as ever.

if you do get the chance check out fat-cats early stuff...some brilliant noise/ambient stuff it seems to get more band orientated later on, still very interesting. Good people there.

Well here goes...i thought i would set up this blog so i can write about what is going on and the rest...better than constantly spamming people on facebook and all that crap...that way if people are interested they can view this when they like :)

Finnally got the rough draft of compilation 2 done...its sounding the way i wanted and iv put a lot of thought into this one. The labels really been a good thing as a whole and i want to take it to doing physical releases in the near future. I think im looking at a July release for comp 2 at the earliest followed by a couple more free eps, dont want to give too much away right now but expect a mixture of some familiar faces with new up and comming talents.

My motivation has returned following a month long bender in belgium, soul searching and writting new music, things are ok again for now just need to stay off the wagon and focus on being creative at its the best antidote to all this fucking shit thats in my head right now...got to see the positives and control my temper...haha. Iv got DeeElfe from Brussels comming to stay at the house for a week or so, nice to have a good friend and artist from label visiting, dont get too many visitors and its usually me that goes out there ;) going to kick back at the beach and have a good catch up...dave and henry both back from their travels, i wouldnt mind going to play in some hot country and get away from this shithole...still belgium to look forward to in a month if the promoter sorts it out...i really hope so coz im planning my first proper industrial live set...i can finnally say goodbye to the rest and do what i really love, and belgium has to be where it begins all over again...i cant stop thinking about moving back there, im a techno/acid geek in the middle of a breakcore/bassline scene that i dont like, just find it quite soulless and repetitive, but chances of loosing my sanity are too high out there....christ desisions desisions...
